Příspěvek se snaží přiblížit problematiku polomů a nastínit možnosti řešení v GIS. V úvodní části se autor věnuje dostupným informačním zdrojům, domácím i zahraničním, věnující se této tématice. V další části příspěvku jsou rozebrány příčiny polomů a nastíněny možnosti řešení v GIS. Dále jsou zhodnoceny možnosti softwaru pro podporu rozhodování EMDS (Ecosystem Management Decision Support) a částečně je řešena i problematika získání vhodných vstupních dat pro hodnocení území z hlediska výskytu toho přírodního rizika. V závěrečné části se autor zabývá metodami a postupy (metody DPZ, GIS, letecká obrazová spektrometrie, SDSS atd.), které by mohly být využiti při návrhu metodického postupu hodnocení území, který by byl aplikovatelný na libovolné území.

This paper is trying to approach the question of windbreaks and to show the possibilities of solving this problem in GIS. The introduction is focused on information recourses from Czech republic and abroad, which deal with the question of windbreaks. In the next part of paper are analysed the causes of windbreaks and showed the possibilities of solving the causes in GIS. In the next part are evaluated the possibilities of decision support software EMDS (Ecosystem Management Decision Support) and partly is solving the problem of getting suitable data. The conclusion is focused on methods and procedures (method of remote sensing, GIS, SDDS etc.), which could be used for proposal of methodical procedure of evaluation of area, which would be applied on any area.
