For Authors

Contributions are accepted on the basis of an abstract approved by the programme committee members. A contribution may also take the form of a poster (see guidelines). Publication of presentation slides on the conference website after its conclusion is not anticipated.

Paper Registration

Paper registration is possible via the online form available on the conference website in the Paper Registration section.

Contributions can be submitted in the category of oral presentation (paper) or scientific article (peer-reviewed paper).

Papers in the oral presentation category are accepted based on assessment and approval of the abstract. Papers in this category do not require a full article; the template should contain at least the full list of authors with their affiliations and contacts, and the abstract in its final form.

Papers in the scientific article category are accepted through peer review (at least 2 anonymous reviewers). All accepted papers will be available after the symposium in an electronic online proceedings with ISBN and DOI (both for the proceedings and individual papers). Papers may also be presented as posters.

Author Guidelines

Authors have access to guidelines for writing the contribution, template for formatting the contribution, and author declaration.

  • Please pay careful attention to the identification of all authors and their correct affiliations and email contacts.
  • Please insert your abstract in Czech/Slovak and in English. If you do not provide the English version, your abstract will be translated using artificial intelligence. Also enter keywords in both languages.
  • If you do not have the full article text, delete the remaining sections in the template. If you have the article text, continue according to the formatting guidelines in the template.
  • Papers longer than 3 pages will be assigned a DOI. Therefore it is necessary to complete the author declaration and send it to us.

Please send your contributions by email to the conference address. For any questions, contact us at the same address. gisostrava@vsb.cz.

Presentation Guidelines

  • The presentation is planned for 15 minutes (unless otherwise agreed), followed by a brief discussion.
  • Upload your presentation in PPTX or PDF format at the registration desk, ideally immediately upon your arrival. Do not copy presentations just before your talk, or in the lecture room — everything must be done at registration in advance.
  • Please be present 5 minutes before the start of the session in the given room, report to the session chair, and check your presentation.
  • Please respect the time allocated for your presentation. If the session chair asks you to finish, respect this and complete the presentation as quickly as possible, even if it means skipping the remaining part.
  • After the presentation, there is a brief discussion. If the presentation time is exceeded, the discussion may be significantly shortened or omitted.
  • After the conference ends, presentations will be deleted.
